Joseph Herff’s Chicago Bears Mock Draft 2.0

As stated in the last mock draft, the Chicago Bears have two major holes in their team that are really hurting their potential: offensive line and quarterback. There is no other position group on this roster that is playing as bad at a level as these players are.

After this season, the Bears realistically should only bring two starters back from this season and that is James Daniels and Cody Whitehair. Outside of these two, the Bears should let Germain Ifedi walk (or bring him back on a cheap deal) and release both Bobby Massie and Charles Leno. Both of these tackles are not worth their current price tag.

The other clear need is a quarterback. Nick Foles is clearly not cutting it with the Bears and even if he is in the plans for next season, he should just be a backup or start the first few games until the rookie is ready to take over. Even if the Bears do not take a quarterback in the first few rounds, they should draft one anyway to see if they can find a potential diamond in the rough like Dak Prescott or Gardner Minshew.

Just like Mock Draft 1.0, this mock draft wasn’t conducted by any draft expert. I played the role of Ryan Pace as general manager picking each pick what I thought would best suit the team. This mock draft was conducted on the website NFL Mock Draft Database through their own “Mock Draft Simulator.” The order was conducted by current NFL standings which gave the Bears the 18th overall pick in the first round.
