Dabo Swinney has always been linked to be the next Alabama football coach after Nick Saban. Should he want to be his replacement in Tuscaloosa?

Over the past few years, college football has clearly been a two-team league. Alabama and Clemson are on another level when compared to the other teams in college football. With Clemson and Alabama football always on a collision course for each other, it seems as if things will never change.

However, one thing that could stop these teams from destroying the competition every season is the inevitable retirement of Nick Saban, the greatest coach in college football. When Saban is gone, his replacement won’t be able to achieve the same level of success that he has. It’s nearly impossible.

However, one name keeps arising in the rumors to be Saban’s replacement, and he coaches Alabama’s toughest opponent. For many reasons, everyone expects Dabo Swinney to be the next head coach for Alabama football. The rumors swirled around so much that Clemson had to put a provision in his contract extension that increased his buyout if he is ever hired by the University of Alabama.

Where there’s smoke, there’s a crimson flame. If all these rumors are swirling around, surely Dabo would at least consider the Alabama head coaching job if the opportunity arises. Here are some reasons why he should accept the job.

This article is also under the assumption that he would be offered the job. You can debate his personality and coaching style all you want. I’m sure Alabama fans will hate having pizza parties to make it in the College Football Playoff, and Gatorade baths should be saved for only championships.

However, he is clearly the second-best head coach in college football right now, so you’d have to assume he would at least get an offer.
