Chicago Bears: Should Ryan Pace make this hypothetical trade?

This is a hypothetical trade that is never going to happen, but put your Madden general manager hat on and decide if you would make this trade or not for the Chicago Bears.

Let me start off by saying that this trade will never happen. This is a fun, hypothetical trade scenario. In a way, this is to see how people view the Chicago Bears quarterback position and maybe one of the best players in the NFL.

Alright, before we dive into this “fake news” trade, let us discuss the current state of the Chicago Bears offense and quarterback position. Ryan Pace will need to decide how much competition he wants to bring in for Matt Nagy. Will Pace add a legitimate competitor who could take over the starting quarterback position? Will that player come through free agency, the 2020 NFL Draft, or maybe even from both?

Well, in this crazy world, I am about to throw out a trade scenario and as a fan of the Chicago Bears, I want to know if you would take the deal or not. Do not worry if the other team would be willing to make the move or not. Remember, this is all hypothetical and even though unrealistic, I think the value is there to make this trade really happen. That said, neither team would do it.

Enough with the fluff, let us get down to the nitty-gritty of this trade.

Well, Bears fans? Would you be willing to trade away Khalil Mack, Mitchell Trubisky and next year’s first-round pick for essentially the ability to draft Joe Burrow in the 2020 NFL Draft?

Mack is arguably one of the best defensive players in the NFL. The Bears gave up two first-round picks for him. He has performed well over his two seasons here in Chicago too. Do you give up on him for a chance at the top quarterback in the draft? Is Burrow that good that he is worth giving up this much capital for him? I have a feeling many of you will say yes.

Burrow just had one of the best collegiate seasons for a quarterback. He even broke the single-season passing touchdown record by throwing for 60 touchdowns this year. This record was held by Colt Brennan, who had 58 in 2006 for Hawaii. Brennan did not work out in the NFL. Will Burrow have a similar fate or will he live up to all the hype? Burrow will definitely be better than Brennan, but how much better is the question.

Personally, I am not making this trade at all, but again, I think many of you would do this in a heartbeat if possible. Good thing this is not Madden and we are not general managers. This would be a complete overpay for a player who has yet to touch a football in the NFL. Burrow would have to be better than Mahomes for this trade to hold value. Thoughts? Are you making this trade?
