Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has his critics, but a Barstool employee crossed the line when responding to an act of kindness by Fields towards a Bears fan.

If you have not heard of Barstool’s Jersey Jerry, you should take a look at how he behaves in regards to Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.

Last April, the Barstool personality went on what amounted to a “childish tirade” when Fields appeared less than enthusiastic when taking a photo.

It was childish; make no mistake about it, and Chicago Bears fans were quick to tell the podcaster to back off. But now, the podcaster may have gone too far.

Recently, a video surfaced of Fields signing a Bears fan’s bare chest, with a huge smile on his face showing his appreciation. Additionally, a video also emerged of Fields interacting with a young Bears fan who claims to be “Fields’ biggest fan.” The latter is truly a heartwarming video.

Needless to say, Jersey Jerry chose to respond in a way that was not only out of bounds but reeked of sour grapes.

Needless to say, Bears fans were not going to let Jersey Jery get any closer with any personal attacks, especially after their last encounter.

Some referenced the incident involving former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, as Jersey Jerry is a Steelers fan.

Barstool podcaster Jersey Jerry’s comments on Justin Fields crossed the line and amount to “shock jock” material.

It’s disappointing that this is what it has come to, and the Chicago Bears and Justin Fields are the ones to be commended for their class. Bears fans are also to be praised regardless of what the outside perception is about them.

Fields shows that he is a man of the people, and given how he took time to make a child’s day and even asked to take a photo with the child while also honoring other fan’s requests, as bizarre as it may be, shows how much of a dedicated man he truly is.

The same cannot be said for the Barstool employee, and Jersey Jerry is only digging a bigger hole than needed while also damaging whatever credibility he may have. Props to Justin Fields on being the bigger man in the situation.
