Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron has first-hand knowledge about the injury Bryce Young may have suffered against Arkansas.

Bryce Young had Alabama fans saying prayers and hoping for a miracle after the quarterback came out injured during the first half of the Arkansas game.

Young appeared to fall awkwardly on his shoulder and ended up in the medical tent and then back in the locker room while dealing with an apparent shoulder injury.

The immediate question that came to everyone’s mind revolved around whether the quarterback was in danger of missing significant time this season.

Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron spoke up to ease concerns while sharing his own personal experience with similar-looking shoulder issues.

“That fall from Bryce Young with his arm extended is 100% AC Joint and Labrum!” McCarron tweeted. “I injured mine twice the exact same way extending my arm for the Goal line against Tenn my Senior Yr and of all teams Arkansas my first year starting!”

With a potential diagnosis in hand, what could that mean for Young and Alabama? McCarron had good news.

“They will shoot his shoulder up and he will be able to play through it,” McCarron wrote. “He has the best medical staff in the country with Dr. Cain and Best Training staff leader in the Country with Jeff Allen.”

McCarron’s analysis was supported by Young coming out onto the field still in uniform after halftime to warm up. While he didn’t immediately return to the game, he was present on the sideline with his helmet on.

That suggests he could still play if he needed to. However, the Crimson Tide held a 21-point lead over the Razorbacks in the third quarter. Risking Young might not even be necessary.
