A new HBO comedy-drama premieres today, Mach 6, 2023, and that show is Rain Dogs! The series portrays that biology isn’t the only factor that makes up a family.

The show, created and written by Cash Carraway, makes its HBO debut at 10 p.m. ET. The half-hour episodes will continue to air weekly on Monday nights, as well as be available to stream on HBO Max. The company gave the project an eight-episode order.

The British series stars Daisy May Cooper as Costello, Fleur Tashjian as Iris, Jack Farthing as Selby, Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo as Gloria, and Adrian Edmondson as Lenny. If you’re looking to give it a shot, you might be wondering what to expect from the production. We’ve got the answer for you below!

What is Rain Dogs about on HBO?

Rain Dogs focuses on the “unconventional love story” between struggling single mother Costello (Cooper), her 10-year-old daughter Iris (Tashjian), and the working mother’s “privileged” gay friend, Selby (Farthing), per the synopsis. The story portrays how this family is trying “to go straight” in a society and world that is tough on them.

The trailer reveals the mother and daughter’s struggles like getting evicted, credit cards being declined, and their messy life. But all of that is combined with comedic undertones that makes the series a fun watch! Check out the trailer below:

The drama is a HBO and BBC co-production with Carraway, Sally Woodward Gentle, and Lee Morris serving as executive producers. Jo McClellan, Henrietta Colvi, and Ciara McIlvenny take on producing duties.
