Ranking the top 10 college football players that would have been the ideal cover athletes for NCAA Football which was discontinued in 2014.

Every college football fan that owned a video game console stumbled upon one of the greatest video games of all-time in EA Sports’ NCAA football franchise. A game that ended friendships, caused the procrastination of homework and kept us up all night saw its ultimate demise six years ago today (July 9). The end of a college football video game’s era left players defeated with the lack of a true college football game.

For years fans of the gaming franchise have often grown anxious for the possibility of the game’s revival, ultimately ending up proving far from the truth. Gamers are so eager for a new game that the rosters continually are updated for every season on EA’s old NCAA servers.

Not only would the game sell well if brought back, but it may also be the biggest revival in gaming history if brought back. The continual support of a community that has been dead for six years is truly incredible. Throughout all the missed years, players for these college programs have also been unable to see their own playing style in the game due to its expiration.

Over the years as college football continually produced elite talent at all positions, the video game franchise missed out on several opportunities to update graphics and produce another game with the next batch of intriguing NFL prospects.

But with no game for the last six years, these are the biggest college football stars, including current players without any fear of NCAA violations, that EA Sports missed having on the cover of NCAA Football.
