Taylor Kinney seems to be back to his usual offscreen antics. While he was quiet following his character’s exit on Chicago Fire, the actor has resurfaced on his girlfriend’s Instagram account and appears to be enjoying his time away from the small screen.

Kinney’s girlfriend, Ashley Cruger, posted a series of photos of them on April 20, 2023. These photos see the two of them posing in cowboy hats and attending the MotoGP VIP Experience & Charity Giving event in Austin, Texas.

The event, which was held earlier in the month, is meant to veteran communities, and is described as making “an impact in helping our wounded combat veterans integrate and adjust back into society through the active participation of motorsports.”

Kinney posed for a photo that was posted on the MotoGP Instagram page, but Cruger’s post includes additional photos involving her, Kinney, and other people involved with putting on the event.

Despite resuming his public outings, Kinney has remained quiet about his future on Chicago Fire. The actor was officially confirmed to be taking a leave of absence from the show, but none of the cast or crew have been able to clarify this initial statement with details.

While the actor’s future on Fire remains unclear, he has spoken at length about the appreciation he has for the show and what it’s done for his career. When asked to reflect on it during an interview with Us Weekly, Kinney said:

"“It’s never lost on me how special it is to be a part of something with the longevity this has. It’s a testament to [show creator] Dick Wolf and the team of people he puts together.”"

Chicago Fire returns with new episodes in May, so we’re hoping that with these new episodes come additional news about Kinney and when we can expect to see him don the 51 gear in the future.
