There are a lot of scenarios that may play out in the 2023 NFL draft when the Chicago Bears select somebody with the ninth overall pick. Of course, while fans have their favorite picks, and we can speculate who will be there, the question still comes down to what exactly will happen in the top eight.

The following players either being available or already being drafted may not be locks by pick nine, and what happens with them will probably decide what the Chicago Bears do. Who are they?

5. Will Levis is key for the Chicago Bears

You can probably throw Anthony Richardson in here as well, but like two ships passing in the night, the NFL draft community has seen Richardson pass up Levis for the third quarterback in this draft. Levis has not only dropped to the fourth guy, but he is now the guy who may not go top ten at all. As Chicago Bears fans know, it will be vital to find out whether four quarterbacks go in the top nine or not.

Of course, there are pros and cons to both. If Will Levis goes in the top nine, it means the Chicago Bears are getting one of the five best non-quarterbacks in the draft. Not bad. At the same time, if Levis is there, the Bears are in prime position to trade back.

Levis not going means one more big-name prospect is gone, and if he does fall, it may mean teams are waiting for him to come to them, and not going to get him. On the flip side, it is hard to envision a trade down from nine if Levis is gone, even though the Bears will have a lot of options.

Whichever side of the debate you are on, you will be watching Will Levis.
