Are Dynasty stars Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown still friends?

After five seasons and over 100 episodes, The CW’s Dynasty reboot came to an end in September 2022 with a characteristically over-the-top yet endearing series finale. Two of the series’ stars, Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown, were the topic of online discussion at the time.

Dynasty centers on the affluent and powerful Carrington family, who run the billion-dollar energy corporation and find themselves in the midst of constant personal and professional scandals. Although there were a revolving door of cast members throughout its five seasons, the series managed to mostly avoid life imitating art in the form of public feuds.

However, as Dynasty winded down its final season, fans of the series began to wonder if Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown were still friends, and the question continues well into 2023. Well, what’s the status of their friendship now? Here’s what can be gleaned from their social media profiles.

Are Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown still friends?

Unfortunately, it appears that Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown currently don’t have a friendship as close as they once used to. In March 2023, Dynasty fans noticed that the actresses unfollowed each other on Instagram. They were both still following each other at the time of the series finale in September 2022.

Around that time, rumors began swirling online of behind the scenes drama for The CW series, though it existed mostly on social media among fans and was never extensively commented on by the cast members. Since it’s otherwise hearsay and rumors that haven’t been openly discussed by the involved parties, we will respect those boundaries.

In Dynasty, Gillies and Brown played Fallon Carrington and Kirby Anders respectively, who themselves had a rocky history as frenemies. While they ultimately bury the hatchet and become close friends again (with some additional feuds along the way), Fallon and Kirby had noticeably fewer and fewer scenes together as the series went on. Gillies and Brown rarely, if at all, shared screen time together in the show’s fifth and final season.

Previously, Gillies and Brown were very close friends offscreen between the second and third seasons. They often appeared on each other’s Instagram stories and profiles and even appeared together on The Zach Sang Show in June 2019. Their public-facing interactions slowed down after the third season of the series ended in 2020, though there were a few social media interactions when the series wrapped.
